New Orleans Native, Pell Talks Music And Fashion
New Orleans rapper Pell released the video for his hit single 'Patience' just a few short months ago which got an epic response and now he's gearing up to play Red Bull Sound Select: 30 Days In Chicago.
The video for 'Patience' received a positive response largely due to the all-female, local cast. "It steps aside from the simple depiction of women in rap videos and for that I'm proud," explains Pell.
Red Bull Sound Select gave Pell the opportunity to create this video and dedicate it to the the victims of Hurricane Harvey as part of their accelerator programme for music artists. Pell says that the best part of being a part of Red Bull Sound Select is being able to connect with people at events across the world. "I am also able to have a great relationship with a network of people who are passionate about music and want to connect artists with new outlets," he says.
Aside from working on new music with an EP set for release 8 December, Pell is also preparing for his set at Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 30 Days In Chicago with a festival show thrown in as well. With festival shows coming up, Pell says his festival-fashion essential is a whole lot of layers. "I need to have a certain amount of layers, from a t-shirt, long-sleeve button up, denim or silk jacket, to shades or glasses - I want to be able to feel like my style is transforming while I'm on stage."
Striped tops are another everyday wardrobe staple Pell is rating these days as well. "I'm a fan of the vintage 70s/80s look they give."
