Creep The Best & Worst Dressed Ladies Of The Met Gala 2018
Monday saw one of the biggest and most prestigious events in the fashion world - the Met Gala. The theme this year was 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' which meant everyone was decked head to toe in their Renaissance best. Although some guests didn't really follow the theme, for the most part the celebs were innovative and creative with their outfits. BEST DRESSED QUEENS 👑
Rihanna
There is no world in which Rihanna doesn't kill the Met Gala game. She is bang on theme while being super creative and we are just obsessed.
Blake Lively
Blake was maybe the most on-theme guest and she looked like an actual queen. We are obsessed with these deep red tones paired with the gold that make an already stunning woman look angelic.
Cardi B
Cardi made the most of her baby bump and flaunted it in this theme-perfect gown. We love how extra it is and it is just so much fun.
SZA
This beauty looks absolutely flawless in this gown. Her headpiece, the beading on the bodice and the full skirt are perfectly on theme and she looks regal.
Airana Grande
Ariana took the theme super literally and had scenes from the Sistene Chapel on her Vera Wang gown. This could have gone horribly wrong, but the dress design is so flowy and beautiful that it really works. She looks ethereal.
Priyanka Chopra
A headpiece like this would be risky for some but not Priyanka. She paired this luxe, Renaissance themed gown with regal detail and we give her a perfect 10/10.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi's outfit was a bit more conceptual when it came to meeting the theme but the risk paid off. The peacock tones in this dress echoed the opulence of the night and we love how it looks.
Kim Kardashian
This is a controversial one but Kim's dress took the theme and ran with it. Although figure hugging, the shiny gold gown with crosses definitely had the Renaissance in mind, albeit with a modern twist. Kim has the body for it, so why not wear a piece like this?
Nicki Minaj
Although not particularly adhering to the theme, Nicki slays in this red number. The train falls behind her beautifully and the tightness of the dress shows off her body.
MISSED THE THEME
Kendall Jenner
At what point did Kendall and her designers see the theme on the invite and go Aha! The perfect time for a white jumpsuit! It's the Met Gala, not a runway show. You're supposed to go out of your comfort zone.
Miley Cyrus
Although in photos she is showing off her cross tattoos, Miley chose a very simple and very boring black dress for the Met Gala which is such a shame considering we know what Miley has been known to wear.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie has just had a baby and may be delirious from lack of sleep. In fact, I hope that's what happened, because nothing else excuses her choosing this extremely modern black dress and sunglasses to wear to a Renaissance themed event.
Rita Ora
Listen, I don't think Rita looks bad, I just think she doesn't look in theme. I don't get these colours on the dress - if she'd just chosen more jewel tones then this would have been so much better.
Lena Waithe
Yeah. I don't have words for this.
THE WORST DRESSED
Katy Perry
Look, I'll give her points for creativity and effort, but I can't say I love this look. Why are there wings?! "Rebirth" I know, but with that gold dress with the thigh highs? Not sold.
Madonna
I get where she was going with this - she's wearing a crown and she's dressed like a nun. However, it doesn't excuse this look. She looks like she is at a very, very weird funeral.
Zendaya
She took inspiration from the knights and ran with it. However, this look is not flattering on her at all. The microbangs and red hair with it? Why did you do yourself dirty like that, Z?!
Sarah Jessica Parker
Why is she smiling that big in that monstrosity? Why does it have shoulder pads? Why is that crown so high when she hasn't been a queen since the 90s? I have questions. So. Many. Questions.
