Carré Souvenir Jacket Still Available In Stores

Carré Souvenir Jacket Still Available In Stores

Parisian streetwear brand Carré have recently dropped a brand new bomber jacket with an exclusive Culture Kings release and it has become one of our most popular outerwear pieces this season, selling out online.

Carré have put their own spin on the classic Souvenir Jacket design combining Carré's eye for detail with Japanese art.

Carré Souvenir Jacket

Traditionally, a souvenir jacket is also known as a Sukajan and dates back to post-WWII. The name comes from American soldiers stationed in Japan who commissioned hand-made jackets as a souvenir.

They would often feature a mixture of Western and Eastern symbols including American and military flags or symbols alongside traditional Japanese imagery like tigers and cherry blossoms.

Carré have re-created this concept with their new Souvenir Jacket which features the French flag in exchange of what would traditionally be the American flag, putting their own French twist on the design.

Carré Souvenir Jacket

Available in black, red and blue, the Souvenir Jacket features intricate embroidery on the chest and back.

As well as dual front pockets, there is also a hidden pocket inside the inner lining of the jacket. The elastic neck and cuffs allow for comfort and the perfect fit.

These jackets are definitely a statement piece and style well with a crisp white tee underneath or an all-black ensemble to highlight the bright colours and details.
