Thanks to an interview with HYPEBEAST, we now know more about the lucrative Lil Yachty. Exploding onto the scene almost overnight in 2015 thanks to SoundCloud, Yachty has been on the up and up since, but has faced a lot of criticism due to his comments about hip-hop legends.
“In the beginning, the criticism and the hate,” Yachty said, “People hate me for no reason, and after that Biggie stuff, it was hard.”
“I was young and I never dealt with it before. But it molded me into the man I am now because I don’t give a f*ck now. I just had to learn responsibilities and maturity fast with no one really teaching me or telling me, I just had to do it. I had to take a lot of L’s, even in my private life, I just had to go through a lot of situations, lose a lot of friends, family members, I just had to go through a lot to boss up.”
Later on in the conversation Lil Yachty discuss his next project, which he says will sound closer to his Lil Boat mixtape. Press play on the whole interview below!
