King Push Tells All In Latest Interview
Pusha T recently sat down with Beats 1 radio for a tell-all interview. He revealed he is working on a follow-up project to 'Daytona', discussed a possible G.O.O.D. Music tour and talked about Kanye's infamous slavery comments.
Talking about his album, the first of five Kanye West-produced projects, he said: “The seven tracks wasn’t just about me, it was about everybody. When you think about seven tracks coming from one guy, five times, that’s 35 beats, in five weeks.” He also said his next album won't stick to seven tracks and that 'K.T.S.E' by Teyana Taylor was his favourite album from the series.
Pusha also said: “I’ve already booked a tour, but you know I definitely see us doing this as a collective for sure, and not even by my word, by Ye’s. I already see it happening.” Stay tuned for more updates on a potential G.O.O.D Music tour!
When asked about Kanye's slavery comments and MAGA hat, Pusha had this to say: “We disagree on plenty of shit. Of course I disagree with what he said then. I flew to Wyoming the next day [to confront him]. We spoke about insensitivity. The actual messaging. Where I felt he went wrong. You can’t even paraphrase about situations and issues that are so personal to people. When it comes to death and real-life people and persecution and things where families have been divided, you have to be more careful.”
“He’s opinionated, I’m opinionated. He’s a guy who runs off feelings. It always comes back to the music… I told him that if you’re really trying to get a point across, you have to be mindful a little bit about what’s gonna tick people off, so you can get to your end goal.”
“People are a bit scared to embrace ‘Ye now. Fine, whatever bro. That comes along with saying the controversial shit. The Make America Great Again hat is this generation’s Ku Klux hood. When was America so great anyways? Name that time period?”
When it came to the beef with Drake, Pusha claimed: “He said what he said, I said what I said, now it’s done. It stayed how it was supposed to stay, just words. It was definitely good for hip-hop. What has been more energetic than this?” Thank goodness all that drama is finally over.
