Dwyane Wade says he still is elite, even as a different player!
"You start questioning a lot of things," Wade said at Monday's team media day via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "Last year was a year for me that reassured to myself that I'm still an elite player. It's just a different game. Maybe not 'SportsCenter' Top 10 elite player. … I strive to be that this year as well."
Wade played in 62 games last season while battling hamstring issues as the Heat missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2007-08 season. He says he’s been taking care of his body this offseason.
"I haven't done what really breaks your body down," Wade said. "I had a good offseason. One of the positives for me was ending the season last year on a good note and being able to go into the summer not having setbacks and just move forward. I was able to build on that."
