Just as Floyd Mayweather got our hopes up saying the long-awaited fight between him and UFC champion Conor McGregor "can happen", UFC President Dana White interjected, crushing all hopes.
“Here’s what I think the chances are: about the same as me being the backup quarterback for Brady on Sunday,” said White following UFC Fight Night in Denver.
White initially offered both contenders $25 million each to go ahead with the fight but Mayweather laughed it off calling White a "f**king comedian".
His response could be cause for White's change of heart.
McGregor chimed in and posted on Instagram not long before the interview with a call out to just about everyone involved.
All we can do is continue to wait and speculate as each party adds fuel to the fire surrounding this highly-anticipated fight.
