In the early 1980s, in Laguna Beach California, a kid named Shawn first scrawled his surname with a broad tipped Sharpie along the stringer of a surfboard he had just shaped. The style became forward-thinking yet laid back, against the trend and forging the trend. It dared kids from the beaches and the streets of the West Coast to have a good vibe. It was the early 80s, and Stussy was born.
