GPS HYBRID radio-controlled, solar-powered timekeeping
Signals are received from GPS satellites and used to determine the correct time in the current location in any time zone worldwide. When GPS satellite communication is impossible due to an indoor location or cloudy skies, for example, terrestrial standard time radio waves are received preferentially. This hybrid system, which chooses between two types of radio waves depending on the environment and operates on solar power, assures stable reception of timekeeping information at all times.
MULTIBAND 6 allows reception of time calibration signals from one of six transmitters around the globe : Germany, The United Kingdom, The United States, China, and Japan (two transmitters).
Clad Guard Structure*1
The crown/buttons and shield parts are integrated for improved shock resistance. By eliminating various parts, this made it possible to downsize the case while installing GPS satellite signal reception and other advanced functions.

Dual Dial World Time
This function provides prompt access to the times in 40 time zones worldwide and displays the times in two different locations simultaneously on the main dial and an inset dial. An automatic Daylight Saving Time function further reduces the bother of manual time setting.
An electronic crown switch and the use of multiple motors combine to enable conflict-free simultaneous operation of multiple functions, and smooth switching between functions.
